Sterlingcindysu Whoa, another long overdue ARC. When I first received it, I thought it was written by Katharine Weber, but no, I was mistaken.

So here's a gothic story spanning generations but I think Webb could have knocked off a hundred pages or moved the action a little faster. Most stories that have two time lines, I will always like the older one more than the current, but it was the opposite here. I think Caroline was depicted well--what a terrible person! Very spoiled and snobbish even in her younger days. The one "secret" is very easy to figure out--it was about page 70 for me. There's no gratuitous mentions of sex and very few cuss words, even in the Wild West scenes.

Again, a usual rant about the cover--I have no idea why the picture of these two girls. The ending wasn't satisfying. Acceptable, yes, but didn't tie all the strings up.
