The story shows much promise in the synopsis and my initial reaction was that this was sure to be a hot yet comedic paranormal read. While it most certainly has it's humorous moments, especially surrounding Olivia's mom and sister, the story took on an unexpected dark erotic edge. Olivia and Kane's relationship is unhealthy to say the least and was a bit exhausting to read. Their intimacy felt forced much of the time, so it was quite difficult to connect with both characters. There were moments Olivia came off as childish or just plain annoying. Kane, although understandably stubborn and difficult in the beginning, ran hot and cold throughout the rest of the story. Unfortunately, the plotline seemed riddled with holes that offered relief with some laughable dialogue and a few scenes of steamy sexual content.

This witch versus demon paranormal is most definitely not for the faint of heart readers. There are a few scenes with situations a reader may find objectionable, so please heed that warning and look to all information contained in this review. That being said, I would like to mention the secondary characters and the intriguing world built around them. Half of the adventure is in following some of the characters including Olivia and Kane to see how or if they redeem themselves in the story. Some of the secrets involving the secondary characters are quite surprising.
