An intricate plot developing the character of a psychologically damaged Serbian girl who becomes a terrorist, interwoven with an arrogant Australian gold mining entrepreneur who runs his life like he plays his poker. Dry wit, plenty of action, and a delve into what the very near future holds for politics in the Middle East, Chinese superpower amibitions - both military / intelligence and financial. A real page-turner (I have been told by several informal reviewers) for those who enjoy techno-thrillers, it culminates in aerial and naval conflict in the Red Sea. Really a man's book, though there are many ladies who enjoy this genre. There's a bit more about the background at the book site Gate of Tears

Jerome Look, James, one thing an author should NEVER do is comment on a review of his book. It's just unprofessional. Let people form their own opinions. I don't care how cool you thimk you are ,Superman, professional writers just don't do that,OK?
