This was another good book in the highlander series. I like that this is an interesting mix of historical romance and paranormal romance. This book was a bit darker than the last one I read, but that just made it better. I really liked Quinn and found him to be a lovely character to read about. I also really liked Marcail (a Druid who has an ancient spell buried in her mind), I haven't read that much with Druid's so it was interesting to see this author's perspective.

In this book, Quinn is still being held by Deirdre and Marcail is captured at the same time, but rather than being killed she is thrown into the pit. Quinn is set on protecting her from the others while trying to figure out a way to get them both out of Deirdre's clutches. This was a really quick read and it was entertaining. I liked all the different characters that were introduced and it really makes me want to run out and get the rest of the books.
