Creepy old pictures, each with an equally creepy story told by a sad grandfather. Eventually grandson grows out of the make-believe, but then his grandfather is viciously murdered, throwing a new light on all the boy thinks he knows is true.

After that it feels a lot like the X-Men, just without the leather pants. Still entertaining, but without the artsy "coolness factor" the readers expect.
