Wasn't as great as I was expecting, but it was a fine novel. It's not very much about the actual disappearance of the mother in the story; it's about her husband and children and how they saw her, how they realized how little they really knew her when she was around. It's poignant, but it just didn't move me as deeply as I was expecting from all the buzz about the novel.
I also was quite distracted by so much of the novel being written in second-person perspective. I really never got used to it, so it probably kept me from being able to immerse myself more fully in the narrative.
