** spoiler alert ** When I finished Wuthering Heights, I was actually surprised that it had a bit of happiness at the end, but glad too. I had been worried that the daughter would repeat the mistakes/sins of the mother. But it all worked out nicely, thank the Light!!! I don't know if that family could've taken anymore tragedy.

The whole story was quite eerie though, to the last. As I mentioned elsewhere it sort of read as a ghost story, even though it wasn't really one.

I hadn't ever read this book before, and so I never understood the meaning of the lyrics to Kate Bush's song "Wuthering Heights".

My friend Sarah and I were talking about it, and marvelling over the fact that the two main characters are truly horrible. I found that although they WERE so supremely nasty, I still cared about them and felt sorry for them.
