This book was recommended to me by a friend, and I have to say that this was one of the better recommendations I've ever been given.

'The Cement Garden' is truly one of the more compelling books that I have read in awhile. I think that most people would find it difficult to read through even the first 3 pages or so and then be able to put the book down and walk away from it. The themes throughout this book may be viewed as a little disturbing by most audiences, but I believe that any reader could appreciate McEwan's writing style regardless.

This is without question a book that will remain embedded in my memory for quite some time.
