Wow. I never read Anne Tyler but I'm really excited to get into more of her books. This book was picked up at a book sale on a whim - I never nothing about it which makes it all the more rewarding because it was so good. It started a little slow but picked up quickly and I oculdn't put it down. It was a love story and a story about family but the most fascinating aspect was that it spanned over the entire lifetime of two people. Reading about different eras, from the 1940's forward, was fun. It made me think about the lives of my parents and grandparents - I wish I knew more details about their lives. Great book. I can't wait to introduce it to my "book buddies"!
