Following the current of a traditional Southern comedy, this book introduces us to the slightly stereotypical but still humorous Miss Julia. She has a biting tongue that conceals a soft heart and a sense of pride that could rival the Mississippi. But as we watch while her life is thrown into turmoil and she struggles to realize who she really is versus who she wants to be, we’re taken on a ride few get to enjoy. Miss Julia, along with Lillian, Hazel, Sam, and little Lloyd, fight a band of hypocritical Christians, the legal system, and their own demons to find happiness.
