Mitch Mitchell is no Miss Marple! For one thing he has more sex before breakfast than The Divine Miss M has in all of her books. But then, this is just one step removed from erotica. Mitch may sometimes lose focus on the hunt for the bad guy, but that's only because of his appetite for the hunt for the guy to be bad with.
This bawdy take on an English Country house mystery is evocative of the genre but isn't a great mystery. But then, some of Dame Agatha's works are a bit threadbare at times too... and nowhere near as much fun.
I'll probably not rush out to get the other novels in this series but I'll be sure to have one in my beach bag. It's the perfect fare for that venue.
