I think this is now the next to last of the Gaslight mysteries. I have one more and I will be through what she has written so far. They are getting a little tedious. This one is about the deaf and it is an interesting background to the mystery. I think the main problem is that the character development is in slow motion. This is the 9th or 10th book in the series and there is very little character development among the main characters. There have been ten books abd at least that many murders in a period of probably a year and a half in the lives of midwife Sara Brandt and Detective Frank Malloy. I'll keep on reading them but stop recommending them.
