A fairly typical chick lit novel following the rise of 4 Latinas working in the entertainment industry. The author attempted to make Los Angeles a character as well, but missed the mark (she obviously is not a native of the Southland). The plot was obvious, but cute none-the-less. It didn't take a lot of brain power to read this, but it did touch on a couple topics bordering on intellectual (like life & politics escaping Cuba & the war in El Salvador).
