Everybody that I have talked to who read this book raved about it. "Everybody" was right. I was hooked from the first chapter. Magnificent story of human courage, human brutality, senseless suffering, the ravages of evil in this world, grace, forgiveness, and the restoration and redemption that only the cross of Jesus Christ can bring. Hillenbrand is a wonderful writer, thorough researcher, and excellent storyteller. She paces the narrative well. This makes a great summer read. If you have not already, pick up this book and read it.
