bookshelves: 2011-read, americana, charming, bwa-ha-ha, chicklit, fathers, first-novel, funny, good-for-decking, junk-food, kidlit, liberry, made-me-cry
Read from June 20 to 21, 2011

This was charming and darling (charling? darming?) and went by like a flash. It can't get any better than a "Clueless"-type girl with a friend named Arugula, can it? This is light and fluffy and totally entertaining. No, it's not heavy with deep spiritual meaning, but the great thing is it DOES have a moral, it does encourage the reader to consider the consequences of her actions, and it does have a happy ending.

It also has some hilarious lines, misunderstandings, evil plans that went into effect before other things happened, stilettos, and a band named "Mental Hygienist". Plus, it was not only clean but made me sniffly near the end. How could you not love it?

I'll be buying copies of this for at least 2 of the nieces' birthdays.

bookczuk Sounds like a perfect fit for my "sometimes fluff is good" tag.

Antof9 Absolutely! I need that tag :) Jen saw one the other day "check your brain at the door". Made us grin.

bookczuk Made us grin. I hope that us is you and Jen or you and Unk, and not a multiple personality appearing!

Antof9 Hee hee - me and Jen -- it was in that Goodreads review of Beauty Queens she was reading ... that distracted us enough we almost went to Pueblo instead of just the south end of Colorado Springs :)
