Though SOLSTICE is written for the teen market, it's a book which, in my opinion, has great crossover appeal. The author blends the worlds of mythology and global warming and creates a story that is believable as a possible glimpse into our future. Each character and setting has been given exquisite detail and transports the reader directly into the scene. And the twists on mythology were clever to say the least. I've been a fan of P.J. Hoover since her books for younger readers came out (THE EMERALD TABLET, THE NAVEL OF THE WORLD, THE NECROPOLIS), and I'm happy I followed her as she shifted age groups and wrote SOLSTICE for teens. I'm looking forward to what P.J. Hoover comes out with next. I can only hope it will be a sequel to SOLSTICE.

SOLSTICE is perfect for teens and adults and is on the top of my list for books I've read this year.
