Ansley is yet another stereotypical sorority girl from Texas with a lot of southern charm and a nice trust fund. Her fatal flaw? She's one of the "mean girls." After her fiancée witnesses her cruelty, he reconsiders whether he really wants to be with someone who doesn't seem to care about others' feelings. He breaks off the engagement leaving her devastated and too embarrassed to remain in Dallas. Then the fun really begins as she decides to move to New York to live with her grandmother, a woman she's never met. As she tries to put her life on some sort of track by seeking a career, she discovers her ex-fiancée is now engaged to someone else-a woman she thought was her friend, finds a new friend, tries to discover why her grandmother left her mother when she was 5, and all the while creating cupcake after cupcake inspired by her feelings. I just might have to try one of the recipes. But then again, maybe it's best just to leave it in the book.
