This is one of those novels where you wish you could give half stars, however, instead of rounding down I rounded up.

While this is a very basic zombie apocalypse tale, the characters are very sympathetic and engaging. I found I had a hard time putting this down once I picked it up. There are some unique elements to this story that you don't often see in the usual zombie story.

For one, you see the hospital being overrun from the point of view of the staff instead of the point of view of a patient or someone coming to get help from the ER. There are also several instances of the heroes making the harder, smarter decisions when it comes to rescues, using the terrain to their advantage, and a surprising ending that was actually could be seen as happy from the right perspective.

Lovely story. I hope we see more from Ms. Edgerley.

Felicia A This book has been picked up by Permuted Press, and I am editing it now. No major story changes, just cleaning it up a bit. :-)

Brandy Hunt I'm glad to hear it. This is a really lovely zombie novel.
