Not a scintillating read, but this book is jam-packed with factual information about the history of color. I love that this seemingly esoteric topic encompasses art history, economics, chemistry, fashion, the age of exploration, etc etc. I wish the author had taken the time to tell the story in a more engaging way. At least there are plenty of beautiful illustrations. This is one book that needs to be in codex form--e-ink's not gonna cut it.

Amy Hi Janice,

You might like the book Mauve by Simon Garfield. It's similar and I remember it being very good.

Janice I'll have to put that on my list. Thanks!
