It's been ages since I have read a novel like this; and yet as I read it, I realized it was different from the others I was mentally grouping it with. The struggle of learning to walk after God on her own, as a woman who takes on a personal faith from that her parents raised her with, is one many can relate to. It adds such a crucial dimension to the story of maturity.

I absolutely loved the insights into a Jewish home and its customs. I take these things in and seek how to incorporate them into my own life and family.

The ending left me with things to ponder. The God who cleanses us from sin is the same God of the Jews, but how does this work itself out in the absence of the Savior? With a rather neat little bow, by this book's rendition. My heart tells me that the main character is missing - Jesus.
