An enjoyable Swedish mystery. Occasionally the action seemed a bit bumbling. There was more than one scene where the detective or reporter stumbles upon a written clue (a copy of a will conveniently crumpled in the trash can?), the narrator said that what he or she read shocked her, and then the detective dashes off, leaving the reader hanging. It felt kind of cheesy. And the accummulatd horrors and crimes that are uncovered along the way start to feel a little melodramatic. It seems that crime writers are trying so hard to avoid the "cozy" label that they are constantly having to one-up themselves in the depredation department.

Despite this, I liked the book. The protagonists were likable, and I'm a softie for police procedurals.
