I usually find it a bit difficult to get back into the early 19th century style of writing after reading modern novels for a while, and it was no different this time – but it didn't take me as long to get used to the writing this time.
I found the novel's start a bit slow, but got properly into the story a quarter of the way in, and towards the end of the novel I found it a real pageturner. I stayed up until 1am last night finishing it!
Having now read five of Jane Austen's six novels (I have Emma left to read), Pride & Prejudice is still my favourite, but I think Mansfield Park comes in third. Recommended.
