One of the best thrillers I have read in a long time. I read this way later than I should have when I really needed the rest for a busy day at the hospital!

Harry Hole, the anti-hero, is the tragic cop figure I'm always attracted to in these type of mystery/thrillers. He's so devoted to solving the crime, at his own expense. His love/obsession with Rakel is also the bittersweet tragedy that keeps me coming back hoping for a happy ending. I'm anxiously awaiting the translation of the next book in the series and will have to go back and read his earlier works.

I'm totally loving these Scandinavian writers. Translate more please!
