Perfectly Imperfect: A Life in Progress

As I read this, I began to wish I had read the memoir she co-wrote with husband and ABC correspondent Bob Woodruff to see what, if anything was missing in that volume, because there seems to be an awful lot of that "story" in the chapters of this one. Perhaps she wanted a chance to shine solo, but if that was the case, why write about that part of things anyway? (when husband Bob was severely wounded by a bomb while reporting overseas.) Perhaps also, she was writing this as a platform to spout out her list of ten Life Lessons at the end of the book. Again, if that was the case, why not include those in the previous memoir, as they are all about that topic: how to help (and not help) when a spouse or family member is wounded or dead. Not that I did not enjoy Lee's diatribes, I actually did immensely, but I am just curious why the two books didn't become one- well, yes, I get it, there were anecdotes in this one that would not have fit in the other, there was no place for them there, but I think I would have preferred a complete separation between the two topics. That's just me. By the way, the Life Lessons are spot-on- if you ever have need of such guidelines for friends or neighbors, or even need to refer to them yourself- they're worded strongly enough that you should get the point, but gentle enough to not hurt anyone's feelings. Get yourself a copy, someday they'll come in handy.
