Absolutely wonderful tale. taking place in 1883 Texas. An English sheep rancher hires a governess for his daughter. The little girl has not spoken since her mother's death. It's a love story but also a western adventure. You get a bit of an old west shootout as they must together protect the little girl from her vicious uncle, intent on getting his hands on her inheritance, not caring who he has to kill to get it. This is an inspirational romance. No bible thumping in this one. You follow along as Addie and Gideon teach Isabella how to pray and rely on God's strength, even if God doesn't always answer your prayers. I was so captivated by the story that I read it in under 24 hours. I hated to put it down to sleep. Definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a cross between an old fashioned fairytale romance and a bit of an exciting adventure.

Oh, and I love the cover. Adelaide is so engrossed in reading her book she doesn't realize she's about to walk off the porch!
