really liked it

I listened to this as a book on tape which I would highly recommend because the reader, Peter Frances James, was a master at accents. The characters come alive with their professorial, West Indian, African American teen, etc. voices that I can't imagine appreciating it without that element. Smith's observations are spot-on and what can only be inferred as an intimate knowledge of the politics of university faculty life feels real. The ending leaves you with a lot of consider. I would love to have a discussion with others about the title in relationship to the theme / story. Characters that you miss even though they are profoundly flawed.
