The thing that I love about all off Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody Mysteries is that each book contains thoughful writing, wonderful characters, real egyptology, real egypt history, super mysteries and the author has a witty voice. Now I must admit that I dont usually recommend these books to men because the main character is a head strong british woman - I have found that her voice doesnt really appeal to men but if one is tired of the dry egyptology book pick up Elizabeth Peters and you will find the Indianna Jones of egypt between the pages.
