This book is like the Da Vinci Code: it's not great, but you can't put it down. I only half understand why it's so popular. I mean, the big drama love story does it for a lot of people (myself included), but the writing was just so unoriginal and repetitive. Meyers uses the same words over and over and over and over again. If you took out all descriptions of Edward being really really incredibly good looking (and how his arms are like cold marble) the book would be half as long and maybe more enjoyable.

Also, the main character sets a terrible example for girls. I know, I know, I sound uptight, but I couldn't help thinking while I was reading that if I knew Bella in real life I'd think she was an idiot. To throw your life away at 17 for some undead dude is so two centuries ago.
