Epic Fail... to me this book was an epic fail indeed. I did not like this book. The characters were boring. The storyline went all over the place. At time, I almost wished we could read more about Juliana and Chase because Elise and Derek were so boring.
There's just too many things I didn't like in this book. How the parents were so controling and old fashion. For example, the girls all have a cell phone but they can't use it at school or at home!?!? So I guess that gives them the ride back from school to use it?
The thing is, there was potential. It could've been better if the parents didn't work at the school. If the girls weren't total goodie two shoes. If the ending was different...
The ending: Really what was that about? I turn to the next page expecting more and I see : "About the author..." For a minute I was wondering if I'd skipped ahead without noticing (I'm on a Kindle). It just felt unfinish, but no it truly ended this way!
I get that this was supposed to be a modern twist on Pride and Prejudice, but I have never read it. (GASP!!! I know... How could this be possible!!) So I have nothing to compare it too. All I know is that to my illiterate ;-) eyes, this story was missing something.

Haha, I haven't read it either, huge deficiency in my education, I feel like every other YA book mentions it somehow, too. I had higher hopes for this one, thanks for the heads up!

I feel kind of disloyal now, but I really enjoyed this. I thought there was plenty of drama, but also lots of sweetness.
Oh well it had to happen someday ;-) Maybe it's just me who's in a weird reading mood. I can't seem to get into any of the books I've been reading in the last week.
I haven't read Pride and Prejudice either. Even if I had, this book still sucked. And since it sucked, I wonder if I'd even like P&P!

@stephanie welcome to the club! I also thought that maybe i had skipped ahead when I suddenly saw about the author!!! That killed the entire pleasure of reading it. besides, it was too pride-and-prejudice ish for me.
Wow my thoughts exactly on the ending. How anti-climaxing (omq is that a word??) I thought it felt...unfinished. Actually the exact thing happened to me...i was reading on my nook ( not kindle...) and then suddenly it ends and I'm starring at the about the author page. I was like...are you serious? Talk about Epic Fail. Overall the book was okay. Totally fluffy worthy. But it just felt unfinished...like the author had planned for a sequel but never got around to it. It never explained anything about Webster (did the catch the freaking creep or what???) and what happens to that stupid girl with him. Or anything about Georgia...or even Layla's wild streak. Or um....ANYTHING ABOUT THE MAIN CHARACTERS!!! does Derek's mom hate Elise? What happens when Derek leaves for college? It just felt like the author pointed to a random page and said..."Okay, just publish everything up to that sentence." I'm upset. Now I shall go wallow in my sorrow with ice cream and another book. Hoping that the author of my rebound book doesn't epicly ( I don't think that's a word either!) fail me! -SOStephh
