really liked it
Read from June 15 to July 09, 2011

Great fun. Loved this style, Susanna Clarke deftly handles the old-fashioned prose, and the use of footnotes and the gorgeous illustrations really worked for me. The ending was a bit too inconclusive for me (hence no 5th star), apart from that I loved this story of professional rivals, with a solid side serving of fantasy and alternative history.

Josh wow - been a while since you posted. Good to see you're still in the land of the reading :-)

Jason Fischer The Fisch never stops reading :-) it was a stonking big book, took a while to finish that one. Thoroughly enjoyed it, but was probably the equivalent of 10 Hard Case Crime books :-)

Josh Gotta say I've been hitting up some larger books in recent times (Duma Key, Windup Girl, Night Life). Sometimes its good to get lost in a tomb :-)

Jason Fischer Hope you take a flashlight and a good book to read while you're stuck in someone's mausoleum :-) oh, TOME.
