Better than the last one I read, "Black Friday", the story was good and held my interest to the end. I like the way in this one, Ms. Kava goes for a more realistic ending, not all over the top for the sake of it. Some crime/thriller authors just don't know when to stop with the crazy action at the end, but Alex Kava seems to have got it just right in this case. The story is basically about a cooler box full of body parts being recovered from the sea off the coast of Florida and Maggie is asked to go down and investigate. There is a hurricane on the way, a big one, so she has to get her skates on and solve this as quickly as possible, before they are evacuated from the Pensacola Beach area. Benjamin Platt, Maggies "friend", is also in that area, investigating a mysterious illness that has killed several young soldiers, who have recently come back from Afghanistan. Seems that the two cases may be related, unknown to either one of them. It's a race against the clock for Maggie and Benjamin. The author really needs to develop Maggies character at this point, as it is really getting old that every man she meets falls in love with her, but she is not interested in a relationship. (For no good reason).
