When I started to read Winterborne I really didn't know too much about the story. I knew that it was a YA novel and there were some fantasy elements. If I knew a little more about it, I probably wouldn't have read it - just not my style of book. The idea of teen girls fighting off leprechauns and pixies seemed silly to me and I couldn't really get into the action. Also, I grew tired of the main character, Loie, by the end of the story. Her content at being in Mia's shadow was annoying to say the least.

If you are a reader who wont laugh at the thought of invading leprechauns then you may find this story more enjoyable.
