At almost 1,000 pages, this is the most exhaustive biography on The Beatles I've ever ready. It provides an extensive look at their upbringing and careers, including early band members Stuart Sutcliffe, Pete Best, Chas Newby and individuals who had an early impact on their career. I'm only part way into it and I can't put it down. Fascinating! And I must say that I have a newfound respect for John's Aunt Mimi after reading how nothing was going to stop her from seeing him the night he was born on October 9, 1940, even dodging bombs due to the war to get to the hospital to see him. She was straight as an arrow and extremely strict, but it really does make one believe she loved him. Excellent so far.
