As good as I thought it would be, but much longer. All the stories I had heard about lots of useless dialogue to waste newspaper space (where it originally appeared) turned out to not really be true, only a few times I noticed it. This book also has a bad reputation for a lack of characterization, but fuck that, it rules. It's one of the fastest-paced books I've ever read, and I'm super stoked to know that Alexander Dumas was extremely, extremely prolific. If his other books are this good, I'm in for a lot of fun. Reading 20 Years After (sequel) now.
