It's actually not a bad book. The story and the characters are interesting. And and I will say that Brendan Halpin is quiet hilarious in his writing skills! One of the main characters (Declan - which I LOVE THAT NAME)is a quiet boy who likes metal, veganism and appears to be scary, but is really a big softie underneath. He has his fair share of problems and by the end, he doesn't resolve them, but he does at least find ways to better cope with them. The other main character Neilly, attempts to be emotionless both inside and out. This causes problems, like blowing up over small things because she had pent up frustration or anger. She slowly starts to be more open and actually learn to deal with her very own set of issues by the end of the book. And no, Declan and Neilly never date. They actually become step brother and sister in the book, which ultimately leads to them becoming best friends.

I did like the book, but at times I felt like they were trying to be like the dynamic duo Rachel Cohn and David Levithan with some John Green mixed in there for good measure. Sorry Trish and Brendan, but that will probably never happen. It is a good story though and quiet funny, so it is a recommended!
