Basing the plot on an assortment of vintage photographs is an interesting premise, but I don't think the story needed them. Some connections to the photos seemed contrived. I liked the characters and the unique world they inhabited, though.

Karen I liked the characters and the premise--but I felt like the whole book was rushed! I wanted to spend some time in each stage of discovery, and there wasn't the opportunity for it in the book. It could have been 400 pages, easily--IMHO.

Mark Barnes I'm with you, Donalyn; the pics aren't necessary. Karen, not sure about how rushed it is; I had to rush through it, eager to get to the end to find any redeemable qualities.
