The only reason I'm even giving this book a 2-star rating is the fact that I'm a big fan of Kim Harrison's UF, the Hollows, series. I knew this was her debut in the YA area, and while I didn't have very high expectations for it, it still felt quite disappointing in most aspects.

It took me excruciatingly long to get into the book. I think it took me two nights to read through one-third of it. It just didn't grab my attention like the other books that I read by KH. (view spoiler)

Sorry KH, I still love you as an author, but I think I'd stick with your adults UF series only, because I wasn't thrilled with this particular installment. I think there may be a #2 coming out for this, and I may pick it up if I come across it at the library, just to see if things improve at all. However, I have many books on my to-read list and this will fall to the bottom of it for sure.
