** spoiler alert ** Brokenhearted and still mourning the death of her husband Henry, Heidi travels with Abbot, her OCD son and Charlotte, her sixteen year old Punk niece to the small village of Puylobier in France where a crumbling stone house that survived a kitchen fire may have magical properties of healing broken hearts since before WWII. There, Charlotte confesses she is pregnant and wants to live with Heidi and Abbott. Heidi also learns her mother had an affair there one summer many years ago while fleeing the information that her husband had an affair. Heidi also encounters Julien, a sexy Frenchman she encountered as a child during her summers there. He is nursing a broken heart as his brother has stolen his wife. A sweet book, not great literature, but I was really hoping Heidi would get her life back and move on from the death of her husband.
