Dead Beat (The Dresden Files, #7)

I love this book! I've read it a couple of times and it is just as enjoyable every time. Part of the reason is the plot. Harry Dresden, wizard for hire, is blackmailed by a vampire into dealing with necromancers that want to elevate themselves to godhood. What could possibly go wrong with a plot like that? But another part of the reason I adore these books is the langugae Butcher uses. His vocabulary is advanced and his store of idioms, puns and synonyms is just enormous. Not to mention his similes and metaphors that are in a league by themselves. And then there is a third part that leaves you dancing with joy and that is the main character, Harry Dresden himself. He is chivalrous, stubborn and refuses to see people get hurt if he has the means the stop them. That boils down to "courageous" and the ways he defeats the bad guys are nothing short of genius. Now, if this isn't enough to entice you into reading these books I just have to mention that he has a talking skull, calls up a dinosaur to defeat the zombie army AND has a Fallen angel in his head tripping over itself to make him love her. Good reading!

I'm a fan of this entire series, and can't wait for the next one to come out next month!

Ok, let me finish the "Paradise" series and then I will check out either Nightside or Dresden...which do you recommend first?
Well, since I haven't started on the Nightside yet... Dresden! :-) And you can start thinking about what book you would like me to read of yours, once I've tried the Nightside.
