I had just read the manga version of Christine Feehan's Carpathians series, 'Dark Hunger,' and at first I thought this was going to be very similar. However, I like Sherrilyn Kenyon's manga adaptation better. This is the third Dark Hunter story I've ever read, but I didn't start at the beginning, so this is a nice introduction to the mythology. It's a very rich backstory, and even though that's a bit tough to capture in the illustrated format, I think this one is adapted very well. Amanda is a great heroine, funny and tough, even though she's supposed to be the "normal" one in her paranormal family. Kyrian is gorgeous - I like him even better than Feehan's Riordan. I'm highly encouraged to keep going with this series.
