Pierre Anthon climbs a plum tree because he doesn't believe life has meaning at all. So his classmates set out to prove him wrong. They start by bringing what they believe to be most important to them, but they quickly realize they have to choose for each other b/c they themselves won't bring what truly matters. So onto the "heap of meaning" goes favorite shoes, a prayer mat, a snake in formaldehyde, and so on and so forth. Until things get out of hand.

A Lord of the Flies for the 21st century.
