Appointment with Death (Hercule Poirot)
by Agatha Christie
by Agatha Christie
"Appointment with Death" is one of the most fun Agatha Christie novels I have read in a while! It's a short, quick read and I was really excited that I figured out who the killer was before the solution was announced! I love when that happens!
The following may or may not contain spoilers.
Hercule Poirot, famous detective, is on "vacation" in Jerusalem when he hears a voice say "You do see, don't you, that she has to be killed!" Not a good way to start a vacation! Then, in nearby Petra, a tyrannical old woman named Mrs. Boynton is found dead! This particular case is a tough one, because NOBODY liked the evil, controlling, and manipulative Mrs. Boynton, making EVERYBODY a suspect! Could it be her stepchildren? Her daughter-in-law? Her birth daughter who is slowly approaching insanity? Or an outsider? Hercule Poirot is confident that he will solve the case in 24 hours or less...and he does!
Fun mystery with a fun solution...one of my favourite Agatha books so far!
