The Thief lord by Cornelia Funke was a pretty good book. This book tells a story of two young boys(Bo and Prosper) who run away and decide to hide from there care givers with a group of misfit runaways in an abandon theatre. In the under belly of Venice, Italy. They get into some sticky situations and have to steal to get money and survive. Including having a wealthy client send the gang on a very special mission. There are many characters include Prosper, Bo, Hornet and the Thief Lord himself Scipio. As i said earlier this book takes place in Venice, Italy. This story is told in third person and the mood was mysterious and eery.

However I did like how there was two sides of the story for instance you get to see the story through the eyes of the detective and through the eyes of group of misfits. I didn't like the beginning of the book, i thought the transition between the two lifestyles could have been clearer. I also didn't like the use of the italian words i thought it was a hassle to flip to the back of the book to figure out what that word meant. This books genre would definitely be consider a mystery. Overall it was a good book and i would recommend it to any one who enjoys mysteries or who like to really think about reading it.
