SPOILER ALERT!!!
I guess I would give it 3.5 stars. I did really turn the pages quickly at the end, but I did think it was predictable at points. I am not a huge point of the first person point of view and thought it very unrealistic that she would actually write in her journal in that style (the style of speaking) and in such great depth. I think that it seems like the husband isn't the husband through the whole book. I am married and have kids and know that Chris would never put away photos of the kids, no matter how painful. I think the book immediately makes you think of the hubby as the bad guy--never believed the fire story, the "we don't have wedding pictures" story, no pics of him with the son, he was too suspicious all along. He never experienced joy and excitement at her telling him she remembered something. As soon as he spazzed over pork chops, I was sure. The only thing that kept me reading all the way to the end was to find out where the real husband and the kid were. What I want to know is...who was paying Dr. Nash to do all of that?? Who paid for that MRI? She didn't have money? Where did the bills go???
Intriguing, but not my favorite
