I'm torn between three and four stars on this one. It is a great coming-of-age story about a young woman from Trinadad. She discovers herself sexually, emotionally, and spiritually. Sara's stories of her family in Trinadad and her experiences in Wisconsin are easy to become engrossed in. This book is written well and I found myself not wanting to put it down. The only negative that I have with it is that there is much mention of "obeah"--an African religion of sorts, without much explanation of it. I would have also liked a little more closure with Sara at the end of the book. Overall though, it's a quick read that is well worth your time.
