Jane, a courageous girl with principle. She received injustice since childhood and I think that made her character strong. A lot like me, but not the injustice part though, I mean the character ;)

At the beginning of first chapter, I found it hard to follow her story. First of all because I’m not used to reading classics literature, and it’s a bit hard to understand the language. My motivation went downhill and made me put Jane aside for a few days, checked out the DVD instead just to finish it fast, since my friend already done in a month *yes, that’s you Erie! You left me behind in that haunted room* hu hu. But then I changed my mind and returned the DVD *glad I did it*

Finally after two months, with cheers and motivations given by Dini and Erie, I finally finished it. YAY!

I found it hard to like Mr. Rochester, and the book didn’t help me understand why Jane could love him, a man who were described as a middle aged man with an ugly face (in the movie he’s not that bad looking), and an authority character who always gave commands. But watching the movie help me understand why Jane falls in love with him. Jane had no dad since she was a child, right? And that means she didn’t get a father figure in her life, plus her uncle died. She found it in Mr. Rochester, that’s why she loved him (Hmm… I could be a psychologist now)

The young Jane didn’t appreciate Mr. Rochester’s idea in making her his mistress, because at that time, bigamy was prohibited and Mr. Rochester could go into jail for doing that. But still he tried to wed Jane and ready to take the risk in order to be with her. I liked him then. I liked his courage and his great love for Jane. But when Jane ran away from him, I could understand it, too.

When she met her cousins, whom she didn't know about, I couldn't believe how relief I am, and how happy I am for her. It shows how Bronte could bring out her emotions and pour it into her book and reach my emotions when I read it. It made me gasp in horror, yell in frustration and cheer in happiness. Plus, there are meaningful conversations shared between Jane and Mr. Rochester that I like. The curious questions from Mr. Rochester and the smart reply from Jane made me smile. Well, what can I say more? I fell in love with Jane!

Jane Eyre is the first classic novel I’ve ever read. And I’m sure this won’t be the last. Already I made a list of other classic novels I want to read. I’m sure I would enjoy them as much as I enjoy Jane Eyre.

Dini Za, sepedanya kasih ke Tukul bin cheerleader aja biar ga dilempar ke jidatnya Rochester ;P Kalo gw sih kok malah pengen nempelin jenggot pake aibon ke mukanya St. John ya?

Idle Hippo haduh.. haduh.. kmaren2 gua ketawa liat si Dini tepuk tangan ala Tukul. Sekarang ketawa lagi liat kelakuan si Tiza yang nekat ngedandanin Tukul, hahaha. aya-aya wae ieu dua cewe teh...

Za, kasian atuh si Rochester. dah, ilang tangannya, buta, eh, ditimpuk sepeda lagi jidatnya, tp gitu-gitu juga dia kan teteuuup disayang ama si jane. gw ikutan dini ah, pengen nonjok si st.john ama ngejitak si brocklehurst (kepsek lowood)

Din, itu Tukul yang pake outfit cheerleader sambil bersepeda ria dah nyampe blom? siap2 lemparin tuh ama Syl, hehehe.. (apes nian nasib Tukul)

message 53: by Tiza (new) - rated it 2 stars

Oh, St. John, kasian deh dirimu dikeroyok sama banyak orang. Udah dipasangin jenggot, ditonjok pula.

Sepedanya agak2 haus darah, biasa dipake buat alat pelampiasan sih ;P

Sylvia Giling, Tukul dah nyampe tuh ke rumah gw! pake baju cheerleader, gw sampe serem.

Gw kalo ke Rochester dah gak illfil lg deh, secara kalo emang Neng Jane cinta mati ma dia, ya mo diapain lg, ya kan ya? Tapi st.John itu lho! Duuhhh pliss deh ahh! ke laut ajee :D hihihi.. Jd gak sabar pengen cek out filmnya lagi, skrg dah boleh donngg ;)

Rie, beneran nih Wuthering Heights? Hayuukk! Tapi ntar ya gw kelarin Pariyem dulu. :D

gak rugi jadi cheerleader boy neh. Tinggal si Tiza yang garuk2 kebingungan sendiri.

Into the Wild gw dah ampir kelar, tinggal janjian ama Amang baca Siddharta. Bentar, gw mau ngebujuk Tiza dulu biar baca WH lagi.

mari kita ilfil bareng2. Din, berminat gak? :-p

Tiza Baca lagi WH? Hmm...pengen sih, tapi kayaknya udah banyak nih buku2 yang pengen gw baca ulang. Selaen JE, gw juga pengen ngulang Jonathan Strange (biar dapet mood-nya waktu baca The Ladies of Grace Adieu) sama Middlemarch (soalnya waktu pertama baca gw lumayan tidak mengerti hehehe...apalagi soal perpolitikan di Middlemarch-nya, jadi gw merasa banyak miss aja). Mangga, mangga, Erie & Syl baca duluan aja, paling gw nyusul kalo ternyata ntar gw kabita (apa sih bhs indonya 'kabita'?) baca WH.

Yeeess, Heathcliff emang bikin ilfil (sebenernya gw lebih ilfil sama Cathy (senior) sih). Kerjaannya nyusahin hidup orang aja, tapi justru dia menarik kalo menurut gw (bikin ilfil tapi menarik? Nah lho, bingung kan?), in an evil kind of way sih hehehe...

Dini Yay, nama gw disebut di review! Jadi ge-er ;P

Silakan loh yg pengen baca WH... gw sendiri udah rada2 lupa ceritanya tapi males baca lagi, abis masih banyak yg ngantri.

Sylvia Fiuh.. ho oh nih tuntas jg.. sekarang emang nih mo nengokin Pariyem. Tapi mo ngilangin spoiler yg pernah gw baca dulu itu tuh *if ya naw wat ai min* :P

Idle Hippo ahirnya...

apa mesti masang jenggot bandot lagi? *mikir-mikir*

Eh, maaf! *nutup mulut, mata melotot* did I just give you spoiler? *xixixi* Tapi ambil sisi positifnya Rie, gw nyeritain filmnya itu krn gw yakin, seyakin-yakinnya, hakkul yakin bin yakin deh, kalo elo gak bakal nemu filmnya. So, anggap aja gw ngebantu elo mengatasi kepenasaran loe. Hahaha!

message 61: by Tiza (new) - rated it 2 stars

Tiza Ah, a father figure! *mangut-mangut*. Nice insight, Syl ;). Yay, buat reviewnya! Hah, bener tuh Mr. Rochester di film-nya is not ugly AT ALL. :D

Idle Hippo *ngacungin pentung sambil ngelus2 jenggot bandot*
hiyaaah, dikasi spoiler-tambah penasaran.

uh.. uh.. Tiza juga dah nonton! (tambah gregetan nih) Za, rumah elo di bandung sebelah mana? tar disatronin alias diontrog ah. bokap galak gak? hihihi.. takut kayak emaknya syl nih. gak kasian liat gw masang jenggot bandot lagi? kayaknya bakalan permanen nih jenggot bandot nempelnya, cilaka...

Sylvia Pinjemin Za, suruh bawa Mbak Tika dan Teh Amanda, trus kirim ke rumah gw yak. Si emak dah lama gak ngunyah roti pisang ama ngemut bolu kukus neh, cucian kan, mosok ngunyah sirih mulu..

message 65: by Tiza (new) - rated it 2 stars

Tiza Bandung timur, Rie, Bandung timur. Bokap gw? Well...
