This was a fascinating read narrated by an unreliable narrator (who personally admits that in the beginning of the story). The flashbacks interspersed in the current day narrative gradually reveals the narrator and her sister's childhoods and lives, all seen through the family's tradition of lace reading, and leads up to an unexpected ending.
