The book obviously was a literary winner, as the style and the development of the story was well done. However, it was hard to get into it and one needs some resolve to get to the end. As the story developed, it became more intriguing and I had no difficulty completing the book.
The subject is a little tough and she took her time getting to a lead that could be followed. It was quite depressing, the subject and the people involved, I found. Yes, war and its fall-out is a bitch, no doubt about it.
