I did enjoy this book however, I have some mixed feelings...I was so involved in the story of Letty & Geoff that I got annoyed when a chapter of Eloise popped up. Eloise did redeem herself with some explanation and further information of the story, but I couldn't care about her as much as I felt I ought. Perhaps part of my problem is that I started with the 3rd book in the series (my library didn't have the first 2.)
I was drawn toward this author from an author profile sent by my library. Some of her favorite authors are my favorites: L.M. Montgomery and Elizabeth Peters. I've even read "The Scarlet Pimpernel." I enjoyed the Austen references and the appearance of Amelia Peabody's parasol. No one, even the tough Miss Gwen, will ever wield a parasol like Amelia!
Overall, I found this an enjoyable read!
