Sheryl Hames Torres debut novel is a nice step outside the formula genre romance while still maintaining the elements romance readers want. The heroine deals with abuse both physical and emotional while raising a 'sandwich' family consisting of her six children and feisty invalid grandmother. The story allows the reader insight into how an otherwise bright and capable woman can accept the lies and hopelessness that permits such abuse to happen.
The tattooed, engaging, and quirky hero is a perfect foil against the uptight Lily and her estranged, controlling husband. Grab a copy, get your lemonade and get ready for the bumpy ride in this engaging romance,
